Hotel Review: Hyatt Place Shenzhen Dongmen

Happy Easter! How is everyone doing?

We have a 5-day holiday in Hong Kong, so it is a great time to have a little getaway. I tried to book tickets with my miles few months ago. But none of the seats were available, so I waitlisted few planes, and again….they haven’t release it. So I guess, Shenzhen would be a good place without the need of taking a plane.

I used 5,000 Hyatt points to redeem a perfect night in the Hyatt Place Shenzhen. This hotel opened last year around June, so everything is fresh and new. The room also comes with a free breakfast buffet, which is very similar to the Holiday Inn Express.

Let’s start with the check-in, the staff was very polite with a smile. He carefully explained the room that I would have and the breakfast time.

The check in staff also let me know that my room was upgrade to a bigger one with the best view that the hotel could offer. (Upgrade: King Room –> Specialty King Room)

The room has a sitting area as well, for me I feel like this room can be named as a junior suite.

However, the bathroom doesn’t come with a bath tub.

The hotel is located on top of the metro station and a shopping mall which fills with restaurants, shops and a small supermarket. Apart from the shopping mall, there are tons shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. There were so many people on the street, somehow I felt like it was too crowded to be exact.

Breakfast time starts at 6:30 and ends at 10 during the weekend.

The breakfast has a great variety when it compares with Holiday Inn Express (HIE). And the hotel has so much class then HIE in terms of the hotel design, the room, seriously everything.
